Benefits of habit “Write down good things about yourself”

✓ Promotes self-confidence
✓ Promotes mindfulness
✓ Reduces stress
✓ Reduces anxiety

First step:

Write 1 sentence per day

1. Dedicate a small notebook for this. On the first page, write in big letters the one thing you like about yourself the most. 2. Write one thing each day for a week.
3. Next week, write two things you like about yourself.
4. And next week 3. Remember to read what you wrote the next morning.
5. Keep going for at least 30 days.

Helpful tips to make it a habit:

✓ Time of day is important. We recommend to write in the evening, before going to sleep and read it in the morning, before you leave home. These two habits can help develop it into a routine.
✓ Help yourself remember. That dedicated notebook should be in places you will see every day. Your bedside is a good place, but so is your desk or coffee table in front of TV.
✓ Set a reminder. This app can be helpful if you set a reminder on it.
✓ Reward yourself. After two weeks of writing positive things about yourself, do something that you enjoy, but also contributes to positive things about yourself. Cut your hair, buy new clothes, go to that coffee shop you always wanted. You’re doing good.
✓ Celebrate small victories. Every time you perform this habit, congratulate yourself! Say “I’m awesome” or “I’m so cool” out loud and with a smile on your face.

Tips for beginners:

✓ So, what do you like? It’s a question we get asked a lot, but we should ask it to ourselves. “What is the one thing I like about myself the most?”. Also, we must answer it.
✓ Don’t let your spirit be broken. It’s easy after a hard day to feel it impossible to feel good about yourself. Remind yourself why you wrote the previous items about yourself and refocus on them. Don’t give into anger and despair and take your time. Wellness is a marathon, not a sprint.
✓ For somebody that does not feel good about themselves, this can be a harrowing task. We deal with other people every day, and they are not always kind to us, but you must be kind to yourself. Remember, you are doing this for yourself, and nobody else.
✓ It’s the small things that matter. Take note of the small things you do. Before going to sleep, put in one more good thing about yourself every day for a week. Read them the next morning.
