Benefits of habit “Schedule your day”

✓ Reduces stress
✓ Develops time management skills
✓ Reduces rework
✓ Increases feeling of security

First step:

Write down things to do tomorrow

Progress:

1. Start by putting down a to-do list for the following day. Schedule them by your availability and time needed to complete each task. Do this once per week for 1 day.
2. Next week, schedule 2 days in a row.
3. Keep increasing the amount of days scheduled until you have every day planned out.

Helpful tips to make it a habit:

✓ Same time is key. Dedicate time to the action of scheduling. It is important to develop a habit by repeating the action at the same time. We recommend evenings, or Sundays once you have more days to plan ahead.
✓ Trigger your mind. Help yourself remember to schedule by placing your planner in a visible place around your home or work.
Let the app help. Set a reminder on this app to help you remember it’s time to schedule your day.
✓ Make it a challenge. Use the app to openly challenge your friends to develop same habit OR make your own goal public with consequences in case of failure. Make up your own consequences, something that you wouldn’t want to do no matter what.
✓ Reward yourself. In short term, after every time you consciously chose this habit, pat yourself on the back and tell yourself how awesome you just did. In long term, remember to not eliminate spontaneity in your life. Go out in your free time and find an activity you like or a place you haven’t been to yet. You have more time now that you learned to manage it. Treat yourself!
✓ Find a routine. Think of your daily routine and chose a habit you already have that scheduling your day can follow naturally. For example, if you finish work at the same time, before you pack up to leave, dedicate 5 minutes to scheduling the next day.

Tips for beginners:

✓ Start with little things. Obtain a good planner that’s easy to understand for you. Make a list of your tasks and critically evaluate how much time it would take to complete them. Then start putting them into the planner.
✓ Prioritize! Those tasks that need immediate attention should win over those that are there for fun.
✓ Don’t forget about breaks. Even if you have a lot of things on your to-do list, remember to make space for breaks between them. A tired mind or body can keep you away from the rest of your tasks.
✓ Put time cushions between your tasks. If you need to go across town from one task to another, you will need some transit time. Not to mention unplanned delays. Make sure you have some space between your tasks.
