Benefits of habit “Use the “Eisenhower matrix””

✓ Reduces stress
✓ Increases productivity
✓ Helps you be more organized
✓ Allows for more free time

First step:

Plan 1 day using this technique

Progress:

1. This evening, plan tomorrow’s tasks using the Eisenhower matrix (http://eisenhower-matrix.com/) Do this for 1 day this week
2. Next week, in the evening, plan 2 days using the matrix
3. Keep increasing the days you put into the matrix until you have all week neatly organized

Helpful tips to make it a habit:

✓ Same time is key. Have your organizing session always at the same time. That way, you will weave it into your routine and make it a habit. We recommend evenings, best Sundays to plan the week ahead
✓ Trigger your mind. Have the notebook you’re using always somewhere visible so you would have this physical trigger for your brain to use.
✓ Let the app help. Set a reminder in this app to let you know it’s time to plan
✓ Reward yourself. Once you’ve gone 1 week of fully planned tasks, use the freed-up time you have to enjoy a movie, theater play or something you haven’t been able to make time for before

Tips for beginners:

✓ Set up. If you’ve never used the Eisenhower matrix before, it’s very simple: divide a sheet of paper in four squares. Top squares should be labeled Urgent and Not Urgent respectively. Squares on the left should be labeled Important and Unimportant.
✓ Top left square is where the most important and urgent matters are concentrated and should be done immediately.
✓ Top right square is where not urgent, but important matters are listed and should be scheduled throughout the day.
✓ Bottom left tasks are urgent but unimportant and hence should be delegated to other people.
✓ Bottom right corner is for not urgent and unimportant tasks that shouldn’t even be started.
✓ Do this for every day and you will soon notice an improvement in your time management.
