Helpful tips to make it a habit:

✓ Same time is key. Whenever you schedule the family night, make sure it’s at the same time and same day of the week. It will be easier for everyone to make this into a habit.
✓ Trigger your mind. Have the planned activity’s items (movie, tickets, special gear, etc.) somewhere visible so everyone can see it and won’t be able to miss it.
✓ Let the app help. Set a reminder to ring when it’s time for family night.
✓ Reward yourself. Once you’ve gone through 1 months of successful weekly family night, reward yourself by having an extended family weekend someplace new.

Tips for beginners:

✓ Interesting activities. Choose something that the entire family could enjoy. If it’s a movie night, choose a movie in a genre everyone can agree on. Put it to vote ahead of time.
✓ Go out of the house. More than anything, try to find activities that would take you to new places and your family could try new things. If you’ve never been skating, try it out with everyone.
✓ Ritual. If there is an activity everyone likes to do, like basketball or other sports, make it a ritual for the entire family to go and do it together during family night.
